Assistant General Manager - Bar Cima
Summary: The Assistant General Manager is responsible for managing and operating the rooftop bar, BAR CIMA, ensuring a dynamic and enjoyable guest experience. This role encompasses staff supervision, inventory control, event planning, and the execution of marketing strategies to maximize revenue while maintaining high service standards in an upscale environment. While BAR CIMA will be the focus, the ideal candidate must be comfortable working in a multi-unit establishment and late-night operations. The ideal candidate must ensure efficient workflow and adherence to Company policies and local, state, and federal labor regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the restaurant staff, including front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
- Assist in hiring, training, and supervising employees, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Lead by example, demonstrating a strong work ethic, professionalism, and a commitment to high standards.
- Collaborate with the General Manager to oversee day-to-day restaurant operations, ensuring adherence to company policies/procedures, health and safety regulations, and food safety standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of operational strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Uphold a strong commitment to exceptional customer service, addressing guest concerns or issues promptly and effectively.
- Work with the staff to maintain a welcoming and positive atmosphere for guests, encouraging repeat business and positive reviews.
- Assist in payroll, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to optimize profitability.
- Monitor and control costs, including food and labor expenses, while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Collaborate with the General Manager on pricing strategies and promotions to drive revenue.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and tracking supplies.
- Work closely with vendors to negotiate contracts, monitor product quality, and ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
- Collaborate with the General Manager to maintain necessary licenses and certifications.
- Assist in the development of training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of restaurant staff.
- Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to foster professional growth among team members.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to food safety, labor laws, and licensing requirements.
- Provide insights and recommendations for improvements in operations, customer service, and overall business performance.
Must Haves:
- 3+ years in an Assistant General Manager or similar role in a restaurant setting.
- Proficiency in using restaurant management software, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and other relevant technology.
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Comprehensive understanding of restaurant operations, including kitchen management, inventory control, and compliance with health and safety standards.
- A genuine passion for the restaurant and hospitality industry, demonstrated through a commitment to excellence and guest satisfaction.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with staff, customers, and other stakeholders
- Proficient in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Experience with analyzing financial reports, such as profit and loss statements, to make informed business decisions.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to the restaurant industry, including food safety, labor laws, and licensing requirements.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
